Understanding Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, mood, and overall quality of life. It is marked by both motor symptoms (such as tremors, stiffness, and slowed movement) and non-motor symptoms (including sleep disturbances, loss of smell, cognitive changes, and mood disorders).

Historically, Parkinson’s has been diagnosed only after significant motor impairment has developed — often years after the disease has begun to affect the brain. By that stage, much of the damage is irreversible, and treatment options are limited.

NeuroFore is changing that. Our mission is to detect Parkinson’s in its earliest, most treatable stages — when intervention can truly change the course of the disease.

Parkinson’s Facts

  • 10 million+ people worldwide currently live with Parkinson’s.

  • It is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder globally.

  • By 2040, cases are projected to rise to 17 million.

  • Non-motor symptoms often appear years before motor symptoms, but remain underused in current diagnostic approaches.

  • Relying solely on motor symptoms leads to delayed diagnosis, irreversible damage, and higher healthcare costs.
